Transformative Evaluation
Move beyond traditional exams with our criterion-referenced assessments and continuous evaluations. You’ll be assessed through projects, research activities, and a comprehensive portfolio of evidence, providing a more holistic view of your learning and progress.
- Units: Each unit/module is assessed individually through assignments, contributing to your final portfolio of evidence
- Grading: Grades range from Pass and Merit, to Distinction, contributing to your final overall grade.
Qualification Progression
Our Levels Explained
The GenEx iBp model is built around stackable qualifications. Each level gives students a structured step forward, from foundation access into higher education and, where applicable, a university top-up degree.
Level 3
International Access Level
Equivalent to A-Level-style access, this stage prepares students for undergraduate-level study and supports essential employment skills.

First Year Higher Education Equivalent
Level 4 introduces higher education study and builds the student’s academic, practical and professional foundation in the chosen pathway.

Level 5
Second Year Higher Education Equivalent
Level 5 advances the student’s pathway knowledge and prepares them for direct progression into a final-year university top-up or career-focused opportunities.

Top-Up
Degree Completion Route
Students with the correct Level 5 qualification can progress into a final-year top-up route to complete a full bachelor’s degree.
From Foundation Levels to Full Degrees

- Level 3: prepares students for undergraduate courses.
- Level 4: equivalent to the first year of a degree, building the academic and practical foundation for higher education progression.

- Degree Top-Up: combines practical training with academic study to top up an existing qualification to a full degree.
